My name is Molly Lawler (@mollylawlerr) and I am an English Education major at UNCG. Back in 2020 I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy. Though my semester abroad was cut short due to the pandemic, the two months I spent in Italy were some of the best of my life. Studying in a cultural epicenter such as Florence added a whole new layer to my education. I enrolled in courses that counted towards my degree, such as Florence in the Literary Imagination, as well as Italian language and culinary courses just for fun! Classes often looked like going on walking tours or taking field trips to museums, churches, and monuments to see the material that we were studying first-hand. While in Italy, I was able to travel throughout the country to cities like Rome and Pisa, as well as to other countries in Europe, such as Switzerland and Sweden. I will always remember my semester abroad as one of the loveliest times of my life!
