The MFA Writing Program at UNC Greensboro and The Greensboro Review will host a fiction and poetry reading by Matthew Fiander and Ross White on Thursday, September 21st at 6:00 PM at at Scuppernong Books, 304 S. Elm Street. The event is free and open to the public and will be followed by a book signing.

MATTHEW FIANDER is the author of the novel, Ringing In Your Ears. His fiction has appeared in Story Magazine, Zone 3, Willow Springs, The Massachusetts Review, South Carolina Review, South Dakota Review, Reckon Review, and elsewhere. He has also published articles in The New York Times and Our State Magazine, and was a long-time music writer and editor for the online magazine, PopMatters. A graduate of UNCG’s MFA Writing Program and former fiction editor for The Greensboro Review, he currently lives and works in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

ROSS WHITE is the author of Charm Offensive, winner of the Sexton Prize for Poetry, and three chapbooks, Valley of Want, How We Came Upon the Colony, and The Polite Society. He is the director of Bull City Press, an independent publisher of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, where he hosts The Chapbook, a podcast devoted to chapbooks. He teaches creative writing, podcasting, publishing, and grammar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in American Poetry Review, The Greensboro Review, New England Review,  storySouth, Tin House, and The Southern Review, among others.
