The MFA Writing Program at UNC Greensboro and The Greensboro Review will host a fiction reading by Julia Ridley Smith on Saturday, February 3rd at 5:00 PM at Scuppernong Books, 304 S. Elm Street. The reading will celebrate the release of Smith’s short story collection, Sex Romp Gone Wrong. It is free and open to the public and will be followed by a book signing.

JULIA RIDLEY SMITH’s short story collection Sex Romp Gone Wrong is forthcoming from Blair on February 6, 2024. Her first book, The Sum of Trifles (University of Georgia Press, 2021), is a memoir about cleaning out her antique-dealer parents’ house, grief, and what the objects we live with mean to us. Smith’s short stories and essays have appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, The Cincinnati Review, The Greensboro Review,  the New England Review, The Southern Review, and storySouth, among other places. Her work has been recognized as notable in Best American Essays and supported by the Sewanee Writers Conference, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, and other arts organizations. She teaches creative writing at UNC Chapel Hill.
