The MFA Writing Program at UNC Greensboro will host a fiction and poetry reading by Jenna Dorn and Nick Powell on Friday, February 14th at 6:00 PM at Scuppernong Books, 304 South Elm Street. A part of the MFA Writing Program’s 2025 Thesis Reading Series, the event is free and open to the public.
JENNA DORN is a second-year fiction writer who fled the land of showbiz for the greener pastures of North Carolina. Her Bachelor’s is in American Literature from UCLA. A recipient of a 2024-2025 Emmet Day Atkins, Jr. Graduate Award In Creative Writing, Jenna currently serves as a fiction editor for The Greensboro Review.
NICK POWELL is a poet who holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s from Coastal Carolina University. His work discusses trauma, spirituality, and US imperialism. His poems have recently appeared in Cider Press Review, Split Rock Review, and Bluestem Magazine. A recipient of a 2024-2025 Randall Jarrell Creative Writing Scholarship, Nick currently serves as a poetry editor for The Greensboro Review.
