The MFA Writing Program at UNC Greensboro and The Greensboro Review will host a fiction and poetry reading by Jason Ockert and UNCG MFA Writing Program alum Dan Albergotti on Thursday, September 15 at 6:00 PM at Scuppernong Books, 304 S. Elm Street. The reading is free and open to the public and will be followed by a book signing.

Dan Albergotti is the author of The Boatloads (BOA Editions, 2008) and Millennial Teeth (Southern Illinois University Press, 2014), as well as three chapbooks from Unicorn Press: CircaMMXX (2022) The Use of the World (2013) and Of Air and Earth (2019). His poems have appeared in 32 PoemsThe Cincinnati ReviewCopper NickelFive PointsThe Southern ReviewThe Best American Poetry, and The Pushcart Prize, as well as other journals and anthologies. He is a professor of English at Coastal Carolina University.

Jason Ockert is the author of Wasp Box, a novel, and three collections of short stories: Shadowselves, Neighbors of Nothing, and Rabbit Punches. Winner of the Dzanc Short Story Collection Contest, the Atlantic Monthly Fiction Contest, and the Mary Roberts Rinehart Award, he was also a finalist for the Shirley Jackson Award and the Million Writers Award. His work has appeared in journals and anthologies including Best American Mystery Stories, Granta, The Cincinnati Review, Oxford American, One Story, and McSweeney’s. He teaches at Coastal Carolina University.
