Congratulations to Leah Carper for being named the NC Teacher of the Year! Leah received her Bachelors in English Education in 2006.
Leah says, “I graduated from UNCG in 2006 with a degree in English Education. I immediately got a job at Guilford County Schools and won the district Rookie Teacher of the Year award that year. I am grateful for the classes and the experiences I had at UNCG that prepared me to be the best teacher I could be. This year I won district Teacher of the Year and am now the State Teacher of the Year. Thank you, UNCG for giving me the foundation I needed to be an effective teacher.”
