“UNCG will forever hold a special place in my heart. In my time here, I have grown and learned so much. One thing I learned the most at UNCG was who I was. After struggling for quite some time with finding out who I was and what I wanted to be, I found myself changing my major from nursing to pursue a career in education. I have always wanted to have a job where I can help people, so I just assumed going into the medical field was my only option until I learned more about education. Everyone in advising at UNCG was so helpful in my transition to a different major. I will never regret making that decision my Sophomore year of college. After several long and sometimes difficult semesters in the education program, multiple internships, and student teaching, I will be graduating from UNCG with a degree in English, Secondary Education. To top off my time in college, I recently received a job offer at the high school where I attended to be an English teacher! I could not be more thankful for UNCG and for the many amazing professors I have had for encouraging and supporting me through my four years here as a student. I am so excited to start my career as a high school English teacher to support, inspire, and help shape the future generations and doing it in the same place that grew and inspired me is even more special.”
