Ma’Kayla Hunter (BA ’20)

I had the honor of graduating from the English program at UNCG in May 2020. Though it was difficult graduating from the program in the middle of the pandemic, I was able to use my writing and communication skills to make a living during the increase of remote work. At first, my writing was more creative focused, and I was able to become a published author after my poem was selected for a poetry collection book.  (name of book people) However, this quickly changed as my interest grew into grant writing, leading me to the MPA program at UNCG. I am graduating within two weeks, and within the two years of the program, I have been fortunate to combine my English and Public Affairs in Nonprofit Management experience to currently lead the Greensboro Cerebral Palsy Association as their Executive Director. Without my English background, I would not have the conversational, leadership, or writing skills to fulfill my current role.
