“Being that training is my focus, my English degree is in constant use from building sound rhetoric to preparing memos for dissemination to crafting scenarios for training participants.  I also think, the sensibilities required to give texts a deep read are not completely divorced from those required to empathize and understand other humans.  I’m not saying it’s the same as psychoanalysis but the experience of trying to parse literature for its subtext must be in the same muscle group as trying to understand human needs and motivations.”
