Congratulations to Hannah Ward for winning the 2022 English Department Research Essay Contest!
Hannah Ward is a third-year English, secondary education student at UNC Greensboro, with minors in psychology and rhetoric/public advocacy. She currently works as a tutor at the university and is a Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Member. Her recent achievements include the Pubantz Artist in Residence program and the Provost student excellence award. She is also a teacher education fellow, blue and gold scholar, honors ambassador, and is pursuing full university honors. She is incredibly grateful to the English department at the university for their support and encouragement, as well as the opportunities they provide for students.
Congratulations to Mikayla Clapp for winning the 2022 English Department Critical Essay Contest!
Mikayla is a senior pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Communication Studies. She works as a peer consultant in the University Writing Center and is a member of the University Marshals. She is also a member of the English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta. Mikayla is enthusiastic about reading and writing, and she loves to share that passion with others. She is honored to have won the English Department’s essay contest for her critical analysis on Matthew Arnold’s poem Dover Beach.
