Jim Minick and Corrie Lynn White Alumni Non-Fiction and Poetry Reading

The MFA Writing Program at UNC Greensboro and The Greensboro Review will host a non-fiction and poetry reading by UNCG alums Jim Minick and Corrie Lynn White on Thursday, October 19th at 6PM in the UNCG Alumni House on College Avenue. A part of the UNCG English Department’s 2023 Homecoming Celebration, the event is free and open to the public and will be preceded by a reception hosted by the UNCG English Department.

JIM MINICK is the author or editor of eight books, including Without Warning: The Tornado of Udall, Kansas (nonfiction), “The Intimacy of Spoons” (poetry, forthcoming), Fire Is Your Water, (novel), and The Blueberry Years: A Memoir of Farm and Family. Minick’s work has appeared in many publications including Appalachian Journal, Orion, Oxford American, Shenandoah, and The Sun.  A graduate of UNCG’s MFA Writing Program and former fiction editor of The Greensboro Review, he currently serves as Coeditor of Pine Mountain Sand & Gravel.

CORRIE LYNN WHITE is the author Gold Hill Family Audio, winner of the Cowles Poetry Prize. Her work has appeared in Best New Poets, Chattahoochee Review, Mid-American Review, Mississippi Review, and Oxford Review, among other places. Originally from Gold Hill, North Carolina, she holds a BA from UNC Chapel Hill and an MFA from UNC Greensboro. She currently works as a journalist, having formerly taught English at the high school and college levels.
