The MFA Writing Program at UNC Greensboro will host a fiction and poetry reading by Emily Mathis, Maddie Poole, and Maddy Porter on Friday, January 20th at 6:00 PM at Scuppernong Books, 304 South Elm Street. A part of the MFA Writing Program’s 2023 Thesis Reading Series, the event is free and open to the public.

EMILY MATHIS is a second-year fiction writer. She currently serves as a Fiction Editor for The Greensboro Review.

MADELEINE POOLE is a second-year genderqueer poet. Their work is featured or forthcoming in Antithesis Journal, GASHER, New Note Poetry, and storySouth. They currently serves as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of English.

MADDY PORTER is a second-year poet and writer originally from Traverse City, Michigan. Her work is focused on the art of storytelling from non-fiction to the fantastical through the use of the condensed form, poetry. She currently serves as a Poetry Editor for The Greensboro Review.
