Stuart Dischell teaches poetry writing as well as modern and contemporary poetry. He is the author of four collections of poems: Evenings & Avenues, Good Hope Road, Dig Safe, and Backwards Days, as well as Standing on Z, a limited edition chapbook. He has received honors and awards from the National Poetry Series, the National Endowment for the Arts, the North Carolina Arts Council, and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, among others. His work appears in a number of journals and anthologies, including Good Poems, Hammer and Blaze, and Pushcart Prize.
There’s a deep sweetness in the way that Stuart Dischell, a romantic poet with a funny bone, returns to the past . . . It’s as if he’s sending regards as we enter the danger zone.
