Jay Shelat is a third year PhD student who studies contemporary literature and narratology. Specifically, his work looks at post-9/11 literature and how the structural elements of a narrative echo the trauma of terrorism or (post)coloniality. His other research interests range from William Shakespeare and Bollywood to the Wars of the Roses and contemporary media.
